Avoiding Burnout as an Independent Adjuster
Hey there Adjuster University friends – welcome back to the blog. Today we are going to be having a little chit-chat all about avoiding burnout as an Independent Adjuster.
Let’s get into it, shall we…
So, no matter how experienced you are in any given field, you are only human. We all have 24 hours in a day to eat, sleep, spend time with family and work.
I’ll be honest. When I was first getting started, I spent way more time working than I probably should have. At first, it wasn’t so bad, and I thought I could handle it.
And then, one day, I woke up just incredibly exhausted. I knew I was experiencing burnout – I didn’t want to accept it. Trust me, I know when you’re super passionate about something, it can be tough to know when to call it a day. Life is all about balance. We’re all so different, and what works for me may not work for you.
But with that being said, here are the main habits that help me stay grounded and prevent burnout.

1) Establish a solid evening routine and get to bed on time.
2) Set technology limits: Yup – that means no checking email at 2 AM.
3) Take at least one full day off a week.
4) If you catch yourself getting tired, take a break.
5) Listen to your body. Sometimes it can tell us things our mind can’t.
6) Ask for help when you need it.
There you have it. I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog. How do you prevent burnout? Let me know in the comments.
